Jason Swain Founder and Executive Director
Jason Swain is a filmmaker, director, producer, editor, and Founder of the Dirk Swain Foundation. His career began at NBC in New York before leading him to Clark Atlanta University, where he won the Overall Film Festival Award and received the Kodak Film Grant. His Hollywood credits span the BET Awards, Oxygen Network, Cannes Film Festival, and multiple sold feature films. His City College 9 documentary attracted producers from Netflix, Peacock, and Investigation Discovery. In 2016 he received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award signed by President Barack Obama. After more than two decades in Hollywood, Jason now channels that experience into workforce readiness programs for youth and adults with disabilities through the Foundation’s Makin’ Room at the Top program. Megan Brown Swain
Megan Brown Swain graduated cum laude from Spelman College with a Bachelor of Arts in English and earned both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Intellectual Property from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University.
Megan has dedicated her career to the intersection of law, media, and public service. She has served in roles on Capitol Hill and in Business & Legal Affairs at Paramount Global, where she specialized in scripted and unscripted television content. She later served as a Business Affairs Executive at Amazon Studios, negotiating complex agreements for scripted television development and production.
Drawing on her legal, business, and entertainment industry experience, Megan is passionate about creating opportunities for underserved and disabled youth to explore careers in film and television. Through the Foundation, she is committed to expanding access, mentorship, and hands-on exposure to the entertainment industry, helping young people develop the skills, confidence, and professional connections needed to pursue creative careers.
